The American Lung Association's mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. We do this through accessible education, steadfast advocacy, and groundbreaking research.

Every breath matters, for every person regardless of race, gender, age, religion and identity.  We continue to focus on action to address the long-standing inequities that effect the health of communities we serve considering that:

-Lung health disparities persist among Black Americans, especially in lung cancer.

-Notable health disparities exist in the Latino community, especially in asthma.

-The LGBTQ+ community experiences many lung health disparities, primarily related to COPD and asthma.

The American Lung Association is committed to stand together in order to drive change in creating an equitable society for all.
