ARISE2Read takes an active role in the development of children in 44 schools across Memphis through the presence of volunteers focused on literacy. With over 700 volunteers, we tutor 2nd grade students one-on-one for an hour per week utilizing a simple sight word approach. ARISE2Read also provides every 2nd grader in an ARISE2Read school with 8-10 brand new books each year, and facilitates Bible Clubs that meet after-school hours at several locations across the city.
