Dyslexia is the most common learning disability, affecting 1 in 5 people. For over 70 years, the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) has been the authoritative voice of current and reliable research and information on the complex issues of literacy and the science of reading. Formed in 1984, the Arizona Branch has worked to bring dyslexia awareness and education throughout the state.  Our dedication is to:

●       Calling for educational reform and Structured Literacy in every K-3 classroom across Arizona because Structured Literacy (explicit, systematic reading instruction) is crucial for struggling readers and benefits ALL students.

●       Encouraging early dyslexia screening for all children in Arizona's schools.

●       Educating the community about the causes, symptoms, assessment, and remediation of dyslexia.

●       Collaborating with other organizations working to improve literacy education in our state.

Now is the time to follow the Science of Reading and give all students the skills to read and the opportunity to succeed - not just in school but in life.
