The Asian Pacific Community Fund was established in 1990 and is focused on transforming lives and meeting the diverse needs of the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community, one of the fastest growing populations in the U.S. Our mission is to cultivate philanthropists to invest in organizations that empower underserved APIs to prosper by building healthier communities, developing API leaders, creating a stronger API voice, and providing the foundation for a brighter tomorrow.
Through various programs and donor services, such as workplace giving, donor advised funds, giving circles, and our capacity building initiatives, to date, APCF has awarded over $5 million to its Network Agencies and other community organizations, enabling culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate services to enhance the lives of 250,000 people annually in over 27 Asian and Pacific Islander languages, in addition to English and Spanish.
Funds raised from your donation to our annual fundraising gala's silent auction will be invested in APCF's work in strengthening the local API non-profit sector. APCF partners with our network of 40+ nonprofits, such as the Asian Youth Center, Khmer Girls in Action, and Koreatown Youth and Community Center, to name a few, we serve over 10,000 children and youth in afterschool programs and activities every year. Other supportive services for our youth and their families include counseling, gang prevention, case management, legal services, substance abuse prevention, and life skills and leadership development programs.
APCF also partners up with local donors to offer college scholarships annually to low-income youth. Through a competitive process, scholarship recipients are selected by a review committee based on academic merits, community involvement, and leadership skills. In 2017 alone, APCF distributed over $180,000 in scholarship awards to 112 youth to support their pursuit of higher education.
Should you choose to donate, your organization will be listed as a Silent Auction Donor on our online auction website, as well as at the entrance to our Fundraising Gala which is displayed to all 350 guests.
