Assisteens is an auxiliary of Assistance League of Saddleback Valley that encourages and provides volunteer opportunities for young people in grades 7th through 12th. The goals are to develop a sense of community, responsibility, leadership skills, communication skills, self-reliance, personal responsibility, and team building. Assisteens volunteer within the community throughout the month in many different ways. The Assisteens work side by side with Chapter Members to provide much-needed school clothing and supplies for families in need. They prepare and provide meals to countless families in the Saddleback Valley. They pick up trash to clean up our community. And they even square dance with disabled adults to help improve social skills. Assisteens also participate in various fundraising events to support the philanthropies they provide service to. Monthly meetings are planned, orchestrated, and run by the Assisteens Chairman and Board. Developing leadership is a big focus of the program and members are encouraged to join the governing board. Social and fundraising events are held throughout the year. Family participation is always encouraged and appreciated.
