Sarah’s House—a unique partnership between the United States Army, Anne Arundel County, and Catholic Charities—was created in 1987 as an emergency shelter for women and children currently experiencing homelessness. Now serving any Anne Arundel County resident who is currently experiencing homelessness, our program has since expanded its services to include a project based supportive housing program that is operated on our grounds, two rapid re-housing programs to help people transition into the community more quickly and an aftercare program that is also operated in the community.

Through intensive case management and other supportive services, our goal is to help those in our programs transition to self-sufficiency and away from homelessness. Our clients face multiple challenges that can include, but are not limited to, financial instability, severe behavioral health struggles, under education, unemployment, childcare and generational poverty and homelessness. Working in collaboration, case managers and clients identify both goals and the barriers to achieving these goals to put a plan in place to address them and help the client move forward.
