The Aubrey Rose Foundation's Mission is to help families caring for children with life threatening illnesses with our focus being on the family unit. We strive to lift families from life's complexities during this difficult time by providing emotional and financial support. We help families locally, around the United States and Internationally.

The Aubrey Rose Foundation serves families by providing grants to help pay for medical care, surgeries, hospital visits, doctor visits, prescriptions, therapy-related bills. Also, the Foundation helps to fund anything deemed medically necessary for that child, including necessities such as a dog for a seizure patient, a bathroom system for a child in a wheelchair.

"Medical Expenses are the number one reason that families experience financial crisis. Over 75% of families that have had to file bankruptcy had health insurance at some point during the health problem of their child, however, fees not covered under their insurance policies--like co-pays, excluded services and deductibles--were either too much or the illness caused a loss of a job and the subsequent loss of insurance. Even if a family has insurance, the deductibles and copayments (usually 10-25% of the cost of a procedure their child may need) will easily exceed what most middle class families can afford, and will land a family thousands of dollars in debt. The Aubrey Rose Foundation makes grants directly to care facilities so that families and their children can continue to receive care without the worry of piling-up medical bills.

We also have a program here at the Foundation called "Healing the Worlds Hearts" program where we bring children with heart defects from within the United States and also from developing countries around the world to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for open-heart surgeries and the Aubrey Rose Foundation funds the entire operation and stay. In 2013 the Foundation helped an eight month old boy from the Philippines who needed open heart surgery. Without the surgery this little boy was not expected to live. This child had the successful surgery and has returned to his home to live a healthy and productive life.

We are a 501 (C)3 Non-Profit which is ran by all volunteers, so every cent of money we raise goes towards helping children and their families. We have Six different fundraisers that are annual fundraisers that we do each year.

We also every year host a holiday Christmas Party at Cincinnati Children's Hospital or Dayton Children's Hospital and we have entertainment for the children and their families and siblings, food, drinks, we do arts and crafts with the children that are able to do them and with their siblings, gifts are given to all children including the siblings and to the parents and grandparents. For some of the children and their families this may be the only Christmas Celebration that they have. It is a wonderful event and all of our volunteers really enjoy this time with the children and their families.

The Aubrey Rose Foundation was started in 2001 to honor a little girl named Aubrey. She endured so much in her short years of life, which included a heart and double lung transplant at 18 months of age. In November 2000 Aubrey suddenly passed away. The Aubrey Rose Foundation is an avenue to honor Aubrey's Life. No matter what the challenge, she continued to smile.
