The mission of Auburn Youth and Family Services, Inc. is to support families through Empowerment and Community Collaboration.

Auburn Youth and Family Services was established in 1976 as the Auburn Project, a non-traditional means to meet the needs of Auburn’s youth.

The focus of the Auburn project was the prevention of drug/alcohol abuse through education and intervention. Over the years, the programs expanded. In 1991, the agency’s name was changed to Auburn Youth and Family Services to reflect this growth and expansion of services.

The services of AYFS encompass the treatment of the entire family. The strength of our programs and services is prevention and early intervention with families in need.

Auburn Youth and Family Services supports Auburn residents and their children, whether it be through the food pantry, counseling and tutoring programs, fuel assistance, or various other services, including most recently support of over 35 migrant families.
