There are hundreds of organizations, institutions, and community leaders that passionately serve Chicago’s Austin area children and families and are deeply committed to addressing the challenges we face in Austin. We believe they are worth investing in. Unfortunately, due to the size, complexity, and need for resources in Austin, efforts by these leaders and organizations are often uncoordinated, disjointed, and small in scale.

Who We Are:
Austin Coming Together (ACT) is a network of 50+ entities and individuals that seek to improve the quality of life in Chicago’s Austin community. www.austincomingtogether.org

Mission: To increase the collective impact of our member organizations on improving education and economic development outcomes for the Austin community.

The Problem We Address:
Community Development in Austin is fragmented and uncoordinated, resulting in missed opportunities to maximize the human and economic potential of residents and businesses.

Our Solution:
The ACT network is working collaboratively to build a cohesive and coordinated community-based system of educational supports and economic development. Initiatives include Thrive 2025 (a strategy that focuses the efforts and resources of our member organizations on improving 4 critical community well-being indicators by the year 2025) and the recently published Austin Quality-of-Life Plan, a comprehensive set of strategies created by and for the community to address areas deems most important to local stakeholders (www.austincomingtogether.org/QLP).
