Bakersfield Parent Nursery, a parent participation preschool, is a 501 (c)(3) non -profit organization that provides a high quality education to a diverse group of children at a reasonablecost. To serve this important community need, we are largely dependent on fundraisers and local business support to purchase educational supplies, books, and outdoor equipment. We are currently planning our “21st Annual Spring Silent Auction and Dinner”, for May 4, 2019 . Last year’s event was another huge success, drawing more than 200 attendees to raise money for classroom materials, books , remodeled and clean sand area and a new climbing structure to the playground.
This year, we are hoping to raise enough to introduce STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math). Children build a strong foundation for future learning by exploring STEAM skills by exploration, discovery and play. We hope to buy a classroom curriculum, expand our gardening area,purchase science equipment and new manipulatives that challenge our future engineers! We have set a goal of $4,000 to kick start our new programs.
