Child First (CF) is dedicated to developing youth and strenthening families by providing high-quality community school, after school, and summer learning programs that promoteacademic achievement, social-emotional well-being and parent leadership. This organization was established in 1996 through a community organizing campaign. Community members were concerned for the well-being of youth between the hours of 3:00pm and 6:00pm (after school hours).
CF Community School Coordinators work full-time and are stationed in 10 Baltimore City Public Schools. These Coordinators assist families with various barriers that affect their families. ie. food insecurity, jobs, housing, health and wellness, utlities, GED and more.
