As the largest homeless shelter in the Bay Area, the Bay Area Rescue MissionĀ  (BARM) exists to love our homeless and impoverished neighbors without limits. Thanks to our generous supporters, in 2020, we served 1.2-million hot, nutritious meals to anyone in need. We also offer emergency shelter, transitional housing, one-year wrap-around programs for drug, alcohol, and domestic violence recovery. Clients in our long-term recovery program receive job training in the warehouse, home health care and culinary fields with some receiving associate college degrees through our partnership with a local community college.

In addition, over 70,000 of our neighbors in need benefitted from our mobile outreach services receiving food, clothes, hygiene kits, blankets and necessary household goods; school supplies for children; complete turkey dinners for struggling families to cook and serve at home during the holidays. We also regularly distribute food and clothes to other non-profits in the area that benefit from our warehouse distribution center. We are all about collaborating to maximize our impact for the impoverished in our community. We do this without accepting a penny from any government entity. All of our facilities and services are funded by the generosity of our dedicated and faithful donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
