General mission of church:
Following the example of Jesus Christ, with whole-hearted love for God and all our neighbors (Matthew 22:37-39), we are a congregation that is spiritually, mentally, and physically engaged in the life of our community, nation, and world – generously and genuinely united in purpose to help those who seek wholeness in their lives (Matthew 7:7) as we do justice, show kindness, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).
Specific mission for this fundraising event:
The Bedford Presbyterian Church is currently acting as a Neighborhood Support Team for a family of four who fled Afghanistan last fall. As the Neighborhood Support Team, we provide help for the family in all aspects of life, including but not limited to furnishing an apartment, helping them sort and read mail, helping them pay bills, providing transportation for shopping, medical visits, dental visits and lawyer visits, providing care coordination for medical and dental care, providing ESL tutoring sessions, babysitting for the 2 young children, helping with job searches, and providing financial support as needed.
We are the youth group at BPC and wish to help in this effort by raising funds needed for continued support of this family.
