Belle and Sparrows is a 501c3c non-profit that serves, empowers, trains and employs at-risk and under-resourced women locally and globally. Our twofold approach is unique to the industry. First, we lead teams of women to serve and train at-risk and marginalized women in some of the most poverty-dense locations bringing small business kits so that women can begin earning income for their families. Second, through our social enterprise, The Stella Projects, we train and employ women locally who are rebuilding their lives post incarceration, abuse, addiction and homelessness through small batch candle making.
The Stella Projects’, Candles for Change, is a boutique line of hand-poured candles made by our women survivors. The women in the program are given supplemental employment and job skills training while they are rebuilding their lives, going to school or trying to make ends meet. To date, we have provided 21 months of part-time supplemental employment to several women, with over 1800 candles being sold to date.
Our vision is a future where all women will lead a healthy, fulfilling life of self-reliance and dignity.
