To provide an environment for people to work together and grow food for themselves and the needy, its most valuable yield being tranquility, unity and the good it can foster in the local community.
The Benjamin Franklin Community Garden is the oldest and largest community garden in the Greater Cleveland area. It is sponsored by the Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation.
We receive outside funding, but we must also reach into our own pockets to keep our garden viable. We not only grow our own produce, we also donate our time and produce to the community. Last year alone we logged over 3,205 volunteer hours and donated almost 5,850 pounds of fresh produce to local food banks and kitchens.
To help us continue our work and keep our garden a vibrant part of the community we are holding a fundraising event and dinner.
