Our mission is "To Protect our Homes in the Hills." As first responders to fires, rescue, and medical emergencies, the BVFD strives to exceed the expectations of our community and provide the highest quality compassionate service to preserve and protect lives, property, and the environment.
Bergheim is a Volunteer Fire Department, and we currently have over 20 active volunteers. These are people from all walks of life, from high school or college-aged people interested in determining if the fire service is where they wish to devote their adult life, to firefighters currently employed at other departments, to retired individuals with varying life experiences looking to contribute to their community. Because many of these volunteers are gainfully employed, the contribution of their limited time is an extraordinary gift to BVFD and our community.
The core functions of the BVFD are fire response (structure, motor vehicle, and wildland), rescue, emergency medical response assistance, fire prevention, and public outreach and education. The BVFD strives to provide the highest level of protection and service for the growing Bergheim area, and we sincerely appreciate the continued support from the community we serve.
