BAM is a public elementary school located in Berkeley’s North Shattuck neighborhood, with a culturally diverse community of over 450 students that reflect our wonderful city. Each year our PTA works hard to raise funds so we can continue to provide outstanding programs that benefit our students, regardless of the major cuts to education by the state. It is connecting with other parents to advocate for our kids, and partnering with the principal, teachers, and staff to make BAM the safe, welcoming, and fun hub of learning it is. Each year, the PTA raises ~$200k to support our kids and school. These funds enable all BAM students, kindergarten through 5th grade, to enjoy arts programs taught by professional artists, to learn to play music, to dance, to act onstage, to create visual artworks, and to attend professional performances throughout the year. The funds also provide our physical education program, critical mental health services, field trips, classroom supplies, our garden program, and so much more.
