Our mission is to aid people with disabilities in DISCOVERING and MAXIMIZING their individual potential while increasing progress toward therapeutic goals and fostering independence. We use horses as a therapy tool duirng our speech, occupational and physical therapy sessions. Our horses provide our kids with an increased sense of pride and motivation while they work hard to reach there therapy goals. In addition, the horse is the only other animal with a hip built like ours. This allows for muscle memory obtained during a riding session to carry over and foster an abillity to translate that movement into actual steps once they are off the horse. For our clients that are already mobile but have sensory processing difficulty the horse is a very calming tool. The rhythmic motion and percussion of their steps can have a calming affect that lasts hours to days depending on the individual. Hippotherapy is a holistic and wonderful experience/treatment for people with hundreds of diagnosis from PTSD, autism, speech delays, cerebral palsy and so many others.
