At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we ignite potential in children through the best way we know how, mentorship.

65% of our mentees live below the povity line and 1 in 3 do not have a positve role model. Through BBBS, youth in our community are matched with a mentor who serves as a positive role model, providing guidance, support, and encouragement. Our organization believes in mentors who can empower young individuals, helping them reach their full potential and achieve personal and academic success. 100% of mentees reported will  graduate high school on time, crediting academic improvements to their mentor.

BBBS of Orange County and the Inland Empire offers various one-to-one mentoring programs tailored to meet the needs of each child. Our community-based mentoring program pairs children with adult volunteers or “bigs”, who engage in activities together and build a strong bond over time. We also have school-based mentoring programs such as our High School Bigs Program where High School students become the mentor to elementary aged students. In Anaheim alone, we are at 7 sites fostering mentor relationships for 250 children.

In addition to these traditional mentoring programs, we also offer our Workplace mentoring program which connects high school students with professionals, meeting once a month at office sites such as Ingram Micro and Disney. These professionals help guide high school students to pursue higher education as well as offer career advice. 69% of these mentees are enrolled in a two-year, four-year, or career technical program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters serves children and families throughout Orange County and the Inland Empire and has been making a positive impact on the community for over 50 years. BBBS relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors to provide these critical services to children in need, and with your help, you can ignite a child’s potential.
