At BMS, we serve children ages 3 through 12 in multi-age classrooms that include Early Childhood, Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary levels. Montessori classes, including those at BMS, consist of 30 to 48 children with 3 to 4 teachers, with older children in larger classes.

Multi-age classrooms encourage shared learning, independent growth and mutual respect. More experienced children are encouraged to assist others and serve as role models. Children find peers based on interest rather than age and develop relationships at their own pace.

Each classroom is led by a certified Montessori Lead Teacher, supported by two to three additional teachers. Our teachers create harmonious, child-centered learning environments in which children grow and thrive. From well-crafted Montessori materials to inviting arrangements of activities and lessons, each classroom offers the children an inviting variety of hands-on learning opportunities. Guided by the teachers, children engage their interests and explore the full range of subjects through activities and lessons appropriate to their ages and abilities, working at their own paces and acquiring fundamental skills to become articulate, confident learners.
