Hello. I am a Board member at the Bolton Street Synagogue (www.boltonstreet.org) and I'm writing to request a charitable donation that we can include as part of our annual fundraiser silent auction, to be held on April 22, 2023.
Bolton Street Synagogue, a member of the Union for Reform Judaism, is an inclusive home for the diverse Baltimore community. Led by Rabbi Andy Gordon, we are known for our openness to inquiry and debate, our culture of Jewish innovation, our commitment to social justice in the city of Baltimore, and our uncommon warmth.
Diversity and inclusion are core values at Bolton Street Synagogue. We pride ourselves in our embrace of interfaith families, Jews by choice, LGBTQIA+ members, and Jews of Color, all of whom are well-represented and well-loved in the Bolton Street family. Recently, our congregation campaigned actively for racial justice; marched at Baltimore Pride; and partnered with our interfaith allies around justice and equity issues in Baltimore City. At this moment, our leadership is working on “Not Free to Desist,” a more intentional focus on inclusivity for Black Jews and non-Black Jews of Color as well as ensuring a sense of belonging for all who come through our doors.
