Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos (BGCSM) aims to promote the wellness, health, and success of school-aged youth in the San Marcos community. Driven by its mission to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens, BGCSM offers targeted academic, collaborative, and recreational activities that encourage young learners to become the community’s next generation of responsive, purposeful leaders.
Since its inception in 1979, BGCSM strives to empower youth to reach their academic and personal goals. BGCSM’s more than 20 programs are driven by this goal, working to complement one another in pursuit of three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship. Located in San Marcos, California, BGCSM offers comprehensive programming to a diverse community, serving upwards of 4,000 members ages 6 to 18 each year, the majority of whom are members of low-income Latinx families. Programming is offered at 13 locations throughout San Marcos, including one stand-alone facility, seven school-based sites, and five low-income apartment sites.
