Boys Town began in 1921 when Father Flanagan purchased the Overlook Farm and it became the new, permanent site of Boys Town.  While ministering to the homeless on the streets of Omaha, Nebraska, Father Flanagan developed a lifelong interest in youth people and their struggle to grow into responsible, productive members of society.  Today Father Flanagan’s mission of saving children and families continue, even outside of Omaha!

Boys Town Central Florida started in 1986 and consists of five family homes, an administrative site, Behavioral Health Clinic, and an Assessment Center for at risk youth.  Local services includes the following: Emergency Shelter for youth, In Home services focused on prevention, Behavioral Health Clinic to include assessments and counseling, Residential Care, and Common Sense Parenting.

Regardless of a person's background, race, or religion, Boys Town believes that everyone deserves the chance to reach their full potential. For 100 years, Boys Town has helped thousands of children and families. We don’t give up on kids and are committed to helping those who have failed in other systems. We do this by working to keep children and families safe, in their homes, in school, and out of the system. We give them the second chances they deserve. And we see the success of this work every day.
