The Bristow Music Program began in 1995 with Eve Albright as the band director and Mark Morello as the choir director. The school had 40 students in the band and 35 in the choir. Today, under the direction of Mark Morello, there are over 500 students enrolled in some aspect of the music program; nearly half of all the students at Bristow Middle School.

Although the program is growing and evolving, its mission has not changed;

To encourage and actively promote the highest levels of creativity, performance, and education in music at Bristow and in the Brentwood community.

The Bristow Music Program is unique. It is the largest middle school music program in the entire state of California and has maintained a level of excellence that is largely unmatched. Under Mr. Morello's leadership, the Bristow Music Program has received over 10 Unanimous Superior Awards for Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band at CMEA Festivals over the last 10 years. They have received countless 1st place Awards at Music in the Park events for both Wind Ensemble and Choir and "Esprit de Corps" Awards for best overall team spirit and professionalism for the past three years. In addition to countless other performances, the choir has performed for the NBA Kings and Golden State Warriors for many years running.
