For nearly 30 years, BAX’s mission is to provide a nurturing, year-round performance, rehearsal, and educational venue in Brooklyn that supports artists at all ages and all stages of their development, regardless of their ability to pay. BAX is committed to access and equity and strives to ensure that BAX programming represents, reaches, and serves a diverse range of people.
BAX’s intentional slate of programs provide shared space in which children study and professional artists create. We offer affordable after-school performing arts classes and school breaks arts programs with sliding scale tuition and a robust scholarship program, high quality free Brooklyn public school residencies and youth festivals, over 50 evenings of cutting edge performances in the BAX Theater, and nationally recognized professional artist residencies.
