Prospect Schools believes that a world-class academic program, guided by excellent teachers, in a diverse by design school setting will prepare our students to have a positive impact on society and a lifelong passion for learning. Our network is working towards becoming the leading example of intentionally diverse schools where all students and educators can learn, work, and thrive.

This upcoming year is a special year for our school. We are celebrating our 15th anniversary! In 2009, Prospect opened its doors with a cohort of 100 sixth-grade students. Since then, we have grown to 7 schools with 2,400+ students across Brooklyn, serving kindergarten through 12th grades.

Building a truly diverse and inclusive community is our most important goal, our hardest challenge, and the driving force behind everything we do. By thoughtfully serving students and families from all backgrounds — racial, cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic — we create learning environments where students can gain a deep understanding of the ways in which alternative perspectives drive innovation and creativity. We are a proud founding member of the Diverse Charter Schools Coalition.

Our curriculum is largely shaped by two mindsets:

Internationalism
We want our students to think globally and put themselves in the shoes of other cultures and viewpoints so they can truly be prepared for the increasingly global world they’re growing into.

Lifelong learning
We know our students can become the people they want to be through intentional practice, openness to hard work over talent, and a consistent desire for growth.
