Troop 90 is a scout led troop. That is, the Scouts, with the help of adult leaders, direct, organize and participate in all outings and activities. We believe in the patrol method; teaching our Scouts to work in teams, and encourage continual and consistent achievement toward their next rank, and learning through earning Merit Badges.

Troop 90 consists of a boy troop and a girl troop with scouts between the ages of 11 and 18. The troop is broken into patrols that take part in campouts as well as other events run by the District and Council.  We currently meet on Tuesday nights throughout the year from 7:15-8:30 PM at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church at Highway 281 and Oak Shadows (Winding Way exit). Boy Troop 90 is led by Scoutmaster John Douglas, while Girl Troop 90 is led by Scoutmaster Art Williams.

Troop 90 has an active schedule with a year-round camping program. This Scout-run Troop plans its calendar a year in advance to include a solid foundation in Scoutcraft skills, leadership development, and just plain fun. We regularly send crews to high adventure camps including Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier, the Summit-Bechtel Reserve, and Florida Sea Base. Parents are encouraged to camp with the Troop, with most parents serving as trained registered leaders. Troop 90 has approximately 60 Scouts.

We remind prospective and current scout parents that BSA does not stand for "Baby Sitters of America."  We are not a daycare service.  The success of your Scout's experience is largely determined by your level of involvement in the troop, as a registered ASM or Committee Member.  The more you understand the program the better you are able to support your Scout and the troop in having the best experience possible.
