I hope this letter finds you well. On behalf of the CSUB women's softball team, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for your support. We are currently raising funds to go on a team bounding trip to Six Flags, and also to install stadium lights for our athletic facility, as we are the only team in the Big West Conference without them.

The scorching heat in Bakersfield makes it challenging for us to practice during the day, and the lack of proper lighting prevents us from holding games in the evenings. Consequently, our fans find it difficult to attend our games, leading to a significant decrease in attendance. We believe that having stadium lights will not only enhance our training and competition opportunities but also attract more supporters in the community to cheer us on.

In addition to our fundraising efforts, we are also exploring avenues for team bonding experiences. We are reached out to Six Flags, hoping to organize a team trip where we can work or volunteer in exchange for tickets. Such an outing would not only strengthen the bond among our team members but also provide them with a much-needed break from their rigorous training schedules.

As a team representing California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB), we face financial constraints in various aspects. We rely on fundraising to acquire essential gear, uniforms, cover travel expenses such as flights, hotels, and buses, as well as provide team meals. Our yearly budget, which is solely funded by the university, is limited to $100,000. In my previous coaching experiences at ASU, Stanford, Texas Tech, and San Jose State, the annual budgets ranged from $290,000 to $550,000.

Despite our financial challenges, we remain committed to performing at a high level both on and off the field. Our team takes great pride in giving back to the community through volunteer work. Already, we have dedicated 16 hours as a team to various community service initiatives. Our roster consists of 29 talented female student-athletes that split financial aid and 12 full ride scholarships, along with three dedicated staff members that get paid very little and one graduate assistant who is pursuing her master's degree that comes out of the scholarship fund. In total, there are 33 individuals who strive to make a positive impact.

Your generous contribution would mean the world to us and enable our team to excel in our athletic endeavors. We greatly appreciate any support you can provide, whether it is a financial contribution towards our stadium lights or assistance in connecting us with resources and opportunities for team bonding experiences.

Thank you for taking the time to consider our request. We are immensely grateful for your support, which will help empower these young female student-athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
