I am challenging my students to read 20 minutes each night, so they can reach a goal of 3,000 minutes of reading by the end of the school year. I am hoping to encourage reading fluency and comprehension among my students. I would like to offer a prize for those who reach this extraordinary goal!
I have many students who are below grade level in reading, and I know this reward would encourage them to read more - thus building their reading skills. I am also asking my students to read with their parents and have them ask comprehension questions.
