The Cancer Gala will celebrate its 37th year of raising awareness and local support for cancer care and research
on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Havener Center on the Missouri S&T Campus. We want to “Thank You
for Being A Friend” at the “Golden Gala”. We will continue the tradition of keeping 100% of the proceeds local
from this night of celebration, focusing on the care of local residents receiving cancer treatments and
providing for their needs.
Through your generous contributions, we help cancer patients and their families meet the financial demands
of cancer by assisting with essential care costs, travel expenses, and other needs resulting from hardship or
lost wages during treatment. Recognizing that each patient’s needs are unique, Cancer Gala & Co established a
not-for-profit organization in 2021 with the vision to create a more personalized and profound impact in the
community. As we have in the past, we will continue to look for projects that fulfill our mission, guided by the
passionate, servant-hearted individuals on the Cancer Gala Board.
We are now taking applications from patients and their families to reimburse them for expenses in addition to making larger donations to organizations. For example, funds from last year’s event will be used to purchase a luxury van to transport patients to and from their appointments, and replace the infusion chairs at Delbert Day Cancer Institute located here in Rolla. In prior years, funds were used to remodel the Infusion Room at Phelps Health as well.
