CaringMatters has been serving Mongtomery County residents since 1989. Our mission is to provide social supports and community education so that no one dies or grieves alone. CaringMatters envisions a community that accepts death as a part of life; where the process of dying and grieving are embraced without stigma; where everyone has access to support services withut charge; and where no one dies or grieves alone. Our Annual Gala and Auction provides a significant portion of our operating budget which in turn funds our Children Grief Camps, Bereavement Support Groups for children and adults, Parent While Grieving Program, Family Nights, and Volunteer Support for the terminally ill.
We continue to adap to changes, along with the rest of the world due to the pandemic. Despite the challenges and upheaval, CaringMatters has thrived with crativity, resiience and determination. In FY 2021 we served 1,726 clients; 5,943 hours of Adult Bereavement Group Support; 306 children & family members supported through Children's Grief programs; 179 patients with serious illness supported; 869 community members & profesionals atttended 20 educaional events. We remain committed to this very important and special mission and are incredibly grateful for the support of partners in the community that help us with our mission.
