The mission of Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center is to foster a lifelong appreciation of the natural world through environmental education, habitat conservation, and outdoor experiences.
Carpenter Nature Center provides important K-12 environmental education on 725 acres of restored habitat on both sides of the nationally recognized Wild & Scenic St. Croix River. We have been in operation since 1981, and proudly serve over 50,000 visitors a year, including over 7,000 schoolchildren. Our restored prairies and wooded ravines provide a home hundreds of wildlife species. They also provide an ideal environment for getting our kids outside and learning in a new setting, becoming stewards of the natural world.
