The Carroll County Area YMCA was established in early 2013 when community members saw a need for youth and family development programs along with youth sports. The Carroll County Area YMCA is a branch of the Grand River Area Family YMCA, Inc. Assocation and has over 1,200 members and growing. The Y has devloped youth and adult sports, sports clinics, youth and adult health and fitness classes and one of the most important programs an all year round, school aged licensed childcare program. In conjuction with the childcare program, the Y has developed a YM-Cafe' all year around food program that feeds any child ages 0-18 after school and in the summer each day. This program has fed over 60,000 meals in 2021 and continues to grow each year. The Y is inclusive to all but does discount over $30,000 in memberhip and program fees for low income families annually. Over 25% of the Y's member base receives some sort of scholarship discount. The Y has outgrown its leased, rented facility over the last 10 years due to high demand and is currently on a capital campaign to renovate a vacant school to allow for more program and membership space. The Carroll County Area YMCA is a leading organization in rural Missouri and impacts thousands of families each year.
