In El Dorado County, approximately 1 out of every 145 children are in foster care. CASA El Dorado serves each of these children with individualized attention, support, and compassion.

The children we serve often come from socioeconomic disadvantaged families, where substance abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness are typically involved.  The abuse, abandonment, or neglect that led to a child being removed from his or her parents has a traumatic effect, and the removal itself compounds this. CASA El Dorado recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers from our community who then serve these youth. It is our goal to provide a Court Appointed Special Advocate (or CASA) to every child in need in our community. When a child’s life has been completely uprooted, our advocates serve as a beacon of light – providing caring and consistent one-to-one support, facilitation, advocacy and most importantly, hope for our county’s most precious asset, our youth.
