Visit Our Website The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program of Harford County is an organization of volunteers committed to serving abused and neglected children. CASA advocates the best interest of these children in the judicial, educational, and medical and social services communities.
CASA of Harford County has been in existence since 1995. We are a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization that trains community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children who are in the foster care and court system. CASA Volunteers monitor all aspects of their case and report to the court, making recommendations for what they feel is in the child’s best interest. CASA is unique, the only program where everyday citizens are appointed by judges to speak up for a child’s safety and well-being. Children assigned to CASA volunteers are victims of abuse and neglect. CASA is a national cause with 68,000 volunteers in over 970 locations across the country. Our local branch serves the children throughout our entire community who are a part of the social service system.
