MISSION

Casa Mañana strives to create, nurture, and advance live professional theatre unparalleled in artistic excellence for the enrichment and education of our diverse community and its future generations of artists and patrons.

ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

Casa Mañana’s rich history began in the 1930s, when Amon G. Carter, Sr. envisioned a theatre that would rival Dallas' involvement in the prestigious Texas Centennial Celebration. In 1936, the first Casa Mañana emerged as an awe-inspiring outdoor coliseum adorned with a moat, water curtains, and a revolving stage. The groundbreaking venue accommodated a staggering 4,500 people and captured the hearts and imaginations of all who witnessed its grandeur.

Today, Casa Mañana continues its relentless pursuit of excellence as a nonprofit theatre seating 1,074 in its main stage and producing full seasons of acclaimed Broadway shows, authentic cabaret-style entertainment, and enchanting Children’s Theatre. Last year, 43,000 students in grades K-5, educators, and parents attended one of 60 school field trip shows that are deeply discounted, aligned with State of Texas curriculum standards and designed to both educate and delight. In addition, a robust musical theatre education program serves more than 600 young performing artists of all abilities annually through the renowned Casa Mañana School for Musical Theatre.

For an incredible 65 years, Casa Mañana has endured as an invaluable part of Fort Worth's vibrant creative culture, offering an endless variety of opportunities to experience the joy of live entertainment. It has not only solidified its position as a cornerstone in the heart of Fort Worth's diverse Cultural District but has also garnered an esteemed reputation that continues to uplift, inspire, and stir the human spirit through the enlightening influence of the performing arts.

THE ARTS ARE FOR EVERYONE

At Casa Mañana, we are driven by an unwavering belief that every child, no matter their socioeconomic capacity, sexual orientation, gender, or physical ability, should have the opportunity to experience and actively participate in high-quality professional performing arts. We ensure this by offering deeply discounted school shows to more than 300 schools across 70 school districts, by providing scholarships for our theatre classes, by taking our renowned arts education programming “on the road,” delivering it at schools and youth organizations to reach more students, and by creating inclusive theatre instruction through our “All Abilities” classes. We also offer sensory friendly performances for every Children’s Theatre production.
