Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Berks County is a non-profit organization.  We recruit, train, and support volunteers as child advocates in Family Court for children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. CASA volunteer advocates are caring, consistent adults in the chaotic lives of abused and neglected children.  As a result, children in foster care who have a CASA advocate are more likely to succeed in school, more likely to find a forever home, and half as likely to re-enter the foster care system. An average of 400 children in Berks County reside in foster care at any one time.  Our 60 volunteers serve 110 of the most vulnerable of these children each year.  There is no other agency in Berks County that represents and serves the interests of victims of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
