Casa was founded in 1967 and is a 501 (c) 3. As one of the oldest addiction treatment centers in the country and one of the few in Pasadena to focus exclusively on women. Casa recognizes the importance of affordable, accessible addiction treatment services for women, and we have continued to take steps to improve access to quality care.

Our Mission: To provide a home of hope and healing where women recover from addiction, transform their lives, and learn to love themselves.

Casa's Addiction Treatment Programs: As one of the oldest rehabilitation centers in the country and the only one in Pasadena to focus exclusively on women, Casa has been on the forefront of providing professionally supervised 24-hour alcohol and drug residential treatment, day treatment, outpatient treatment and sober living residence targeting the unique needs of women in treatment. It is our mission to provide the highest quality rehabilitative care to women suffering alcohol and drug addiction at affordable costs.

A physician and our team of highly skilled marriage and family therapists (LMFT) and certified drug and alcohol counselors assess our clients and place them in the proper level of care based on the client’s individual needs. A considerable number of our clients are living with co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Successful, long-term recovery can take up to 18 months of intensive treatment and a lifetime of support, therapy, and other services. Casa provides professionally supervised Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, Outpatient Treatment, and Sober Living.

Free Services: While many of our clients have some sort of health insurance, it will not always cover all the care needed for successful treatment. Casa provides these services to our clients and their families free of charge. Free services include treatment assistance scholarships, weekly Family Program, Aftercare, and our Alumnae programs.

Population Served: Drug and alcohol dependence knows no boundaries and affects individuals regardless of gender, race, religion, profession, or social class. Approximately 62% of the women we serve at Casa are white, 24% are Hispanic, 7% are African American, 1% are Native American and 3% are other. Approximately 96% of the women that receive treatment at Casa are residents of Los Angeles County. While all women over the age of 18 are welcome at Casa, the majority of women served are between 18-34. Persons suffering from alcoholism or drug addiction are defined as suffering from a disability and protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The population we serve tends to be low and middle-income. Approximately 12% of the women reported being homeless prior to entering treatment. Our clients reported the following income levels: 61% had an income of 12,000 per year or less, 5% reported $12,000-$25,000, 18% reported $25,000 and $50,000, 4% reported $50,000-$75,000, 5% reported incomes of $75,000 or more (7% did not report their income level). Many individuals are not able to access affordable, high-quality treatment. Casa has become a Medi-Cal provider to help those individuals receive the care they so desperately need.
