Mission: To connect animals in need with people who care.

CHS is a limited intake, not-for-profit public charity. We do not receive any government funding or tax dollars from the recent Jackson millage or support from humane organizations like Michigan Humane or HSUS and therefore rely on individuals, businesses, and events to raise money to help bridge the gap between the high cost of care and low adoption fees that we charge.

We are proud of the care we are able to give to each and every animal. Each pet is spayed or neutered to prevent more unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. All our animals are also brought up to date on vaccines, microchipped, disease tested, and given all the food, water, and love that they could ever possibly need while with us. In addition, CHS provides a low-cost spay and neuter program, a feral cat sterilization program, and a pet food pantry for the residents of Jackson County.
