“Seek the Welfare of Our City” — Jeremiah 29:7
Flourishing. Thriving. All are ways of describing the results of the word “welfare” in the biblical passage above. Like a tree that grows tall and provides shade and food and shelter, our dream is to see all communities thrive.

We believe that helping activate as many community stakeholders of good will and good faith together is a key to real and lasting change in our communities. We specialize in helping activate local congregations to become active stakeholders in the cities they worship in. In the complex and complicated web of cities and communities in the San Gabriel Valley, the need for bridging and collaboration is all the more urgent.

Catalyst works in partnership with various schools, Monterey Park Police Deptartment and various churches to help care for the most vulnerable in our communities such as homeless familes that have minor children.  Catalyst provides intensive case managemen, parent peer mentorship program, parenting workshop, adopt a family program, HOPE meals for families that are living in motels or in their cars, referral and resources to partner agencies to wrap services around the families.

Catalyst also provides a program for teens call Project Rise which is a teen relationship program that teaches positive youth development, life skills, dating violence, and pregnancy prevention to developing teenagers in the SGV community. Our amazing Youth Coaches and research-based curriculum aims to help youth better understand healthy relationships and further be able to implement them into their own lives. Through our online and in-person enrichment groups, we empower adolescents to reach their highest potential!

Catalyst also seeks to help design, install, maintain, and teach from gardens spaces in school campuses. Urban youth don’t get much exposure to the wild or where their food comes from, so Catalyst “bring the wild” and edible foods to them by designing and installing gardens in their schools. Our environmental projects at various schools in the community serve to teach students about the importance of preserving the environment through the lens of nature and team-building activities.
