The CDCE’s mission at the VA is to invest in sustainable lives for veterans. Because not all wounds are visible, we are dedicated to healing the unseen. We do this by helping our veterans with human resources, financial resources, and educational resources. Through the help of our community, we can make sure our veterans have full lives after military service. We also provide opportunities for volunteers to assist our nation’s veterans through acts of service and donations.
Allowing volunteers to reach and uplift veterans in need creates a chance for people to experience the joy of serving others who put their lives on the line for this country. As a not-for-profit entity, we depend on the generosity of others to sustain and support the CDCE’s mission. Sponsorships and donations help us budget and expense many projects throughout the year including but not exclusively to: • Stocking food pantries for patients who have procedures in various clinics throughout the hospital. • Housing patients free of charge when they come to the VA hospital for procedures outside of a 50-mile radius. • Clothing and feeding the homeless veteran population in our Areas of Operation. • Creating events for veterans to be honored for their service.
