Champions for Children's Mental Health (CCMH) empowers, inspires and educates Delaware families caring for children with behavioral and mental health concerns. We believe in the dignity of every family, in the importance of hope and the unique value of lived experience. We embrace a respectful, professional and exhuberant organization culture that cultivates family members into mental health community leaders. 

CCMH offers Family Peer Support Services to Delaware families.

Family Peer Support services are formal and informal services and supports provided to families raising children who experience social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use and/or behavioral challenges in their home, school, and/or community. Family Peer Support provides a structured, strength-based relationship between a Family Support Provider (FSP) and the parent/caregiver for the benfit of the child.

What is a Family Support Peer?

A Family Support Peer (FSP) is a parent or family member of a child or youth with behavioral and/or mental health concerns that has leadership and paertnership skills that can be helpful to other families and the system that serves them. FSPs are specially trained to work as partners with families and the systems that serve their children.

How We Can Help

We can help you advocate for your child during school/IEP or 504 meetings, team meetings, evaluations, med checks, court apprearances, or anywhere you, the caregiver, need support.

We can also help you build/identify natural supports, identify family goals, navigate the many systems, learn the importance of self-care, build your advocacy skills, locate community resources and understand you are not alone in your jouney.
