Charlotte House is a comfort care home that provides people that have less than three months to live a home like environment with freinds and family at their side. The goal is to allow a person to die with grace & dignity without the limitations of a hospital environment. Families are already burdened with the emotional stress of losing a loved one, and to have the additional weight of providing 24 hour care can proove to be too much. There is NEVER a charge to the person or their family. There is no reimbursement from insurance carriers. We work hand in hand with home health agencies (such as Home Care & Hospice) for the medical care. Family members are allowed to stay at the house as the last moments become obvious. With two bedrooms available on the second floor. The majority of resident care is done by volunteers, with a small group of paid staff to cover the overnight hours. All staff and volunteers are trained. All funding for the house is reliant on donations, fundraisers, memorials, bequests and grants.
