Since our inception in 1978 CHRIC has been an orgaization whose mission is "Promoting neighborhood stabilization, community revitalization, and economic development through projects and partnerships that positively impact Chautauqua County and its residents."   For 44 years, CHRIC has been improving the housing stock of Chautauqua County and the living conditions of its low-moderate income residents.  

CHRIC has addressed the needs of thousands of housing units over the decades, both single family homes and apartments.  CHRIC has been able to help landlords make their rental properites lead safe.  CHRIC has provided assistance sucan as wheelchair ramps and handicapped modifications to bathrooms and kitchens, which have allowed elderly, Veterans and disabled people to stay in their homes.

CHRIC has also brought millions of dollars in funding for Community Development Projects such as the Sherman Street Revitalization Project, Dunkirk Lighthouse & Vetran's Park Museum Retaining Wall and Roof Restoration Projects, the Sinclairville Senior Center Project, Restoration of the Brocton Arch Project, Bemus Point Waterfront Revitalization Project, the Town of Sheridain's Silver Creek Senior Center and Brocton Main Street Revitalization Project.

For 44 years, CHRIC has been improving the housing stock of Chautauqua County and the living conditions of its low-moderate income redsidents.  As a chartered NeighborWorks organization, we provide leadership in strengthing communities and creating affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income families.  Over the past five (5) years alone, CHRIC has created 158 new homeowners, has counseled 853 in financial literacy, Repaired or Rehabbed 633 owner-occupied homes, developed or preserved 1139 rental homes, assisted 1,973 families in Chautauqua County, provided 633 volunteer hours, and provided a total of direct investment of $19,099,137 million dollars in Chautauqua  County.
