Beethoven Elementary School is located in the Bronzeville neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. Beethoven school is a diverse community of learners that strives for excellence, values individuality; fosters a passion for learning and promotes rigorous learning opportunities for all students. We are committed to providing high quality instruction, with modifications where necessary that develop all students’ abilities as creative thinkers on the path to college and career readiness.
Beethoven uses multiple sources to educate our scholars. Beethoven has a learning garden for all its scholars in PreKindergarten to 8th grade. Beethoven's staff is all hands on deck. Beethoven has the Eat What You Grow Certification and the Kitchen Staff, and the Garden Team, both assist with crop that is harvested, washed, packaged and stored from the garden. Scholars assist with beautifying and revitalizing the garden each year. Beethoven teachers and staff incorporate lessons in all subjects including Math, Language Arts, Visual Arts, Science and Social Science. Beethoven has several sports programs where scholars are encouraged to participate in various sports beginning in the fall and ending in the spring at the close of the academic school year. Beethoven also has After School programming to enhance and complement the learning in the classroom. Beethoven also partners with community organizations allowing mentors in all business aspects to encourage our scholars.
The foregoing activities, partnerships and mentoring programs support inquisitiveness, involvement and engagement of our scholars from Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade. In addition, parental involvement is consistently encouraged through activities throughout the year to showcase students' knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge is power and our scholars enjoy working inside and outside of the Beethoven campus.
