Founded in 2015, the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation (CFSF) is the charitable endeavor of the Chicago Section IFT. We are committed to the mission of inspiring the imagination of next-generation food scientists.
To fulfill our commitment, we collaborate with students and educators to:
1) raise awareness about how Food Science is vital to everyday life,
2) highlight the rewarding careers available in our industry, and
3) encourage them to learn more about their academic opportunities in Food Science.
Additionally, we partner annually with IFT to supply 100 elementary, middle & high school classrooms with lessons and supplies for Food Science experiments.
Scholarships are CFSF’s most enduring program. Each year we award over $50,000 to college students who aspire to work in the food industry, helping them cover the ever-rising costs of tuition. The awards are $5,000 individual scholarships to graduate & undergraduate students and $2,500 scholarships to freshmen.
