The Children’s Glaucoma Foundation was founded in 1999 by families whose children had been affected by this disease.  We work to prevent the tragedy of a child losing a lifetime of vision due to this treatable and insidious disease.  The foundation funds and supports:

·      An ambitious research program at Tufts University School of Medicine to study infantile glaucoma complicating early cataract surgery and to learn how to prevent this disease. This glaucoma is the most common cause of early childhood blindness worldwide.

·      An active research program at the University of Georgia to study aniridic corneal disease to learn how to correct this devastating cause of blindness for aniridic glaucoma children.

·      Support for clinical pediatric ophthalmologic care to enable the continued opportunity for children to receive skilled and dedicated glaucoma care.

 ·      Direct hospital payment for surgery expenses to enable pediatric glaucoma care in Boston, frequently including for international children.
