Children’s Medical Center Foundation pursues and secures philanthropic contributions to enable Children’s Health System of Texas (Children’s Health) and its related entities to fulfill the mission of making life better for children.

Children’s Health is the largest provider of pediatric health care in North Texas and is the region’s only academically affiliated healthcare organization dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of children. Exemplary care is offered in over 50 pediatric subspecialties, including oncology, cardiology, nephrology, psychiatry, urology, and sports medicine and orthopaedics. Our comprehensive system includes two full-service hospitals, Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Children’s Medical Center Plano; multiple specialty centers throughout the region; rehabilitation and therapy services, including the Our Children’s House specialty hospital; and award-winning telemedicine programs. Each year, more families rely on us to care for their children, and we now serve approximately 300,000 children annually.

Children’s Medical Center is consistently recognized among “America’s Best” pediatric institutions by U.S. News & World Report; offers a record-setting eight disease-specific management programs certified by The Joint Commission; is continually designated as a Magnet organization by the American Nurses Credentialing Center; and was the first free-standing pediatric hospital in Texas to achieve Level I Trauma Center status.  Children’s also houses the largest pediatric oncology-hematology program in North Texas, treating one in every five Texas children newly diagnosed with cancer; and is home to a comprehensive heart program equipped with the largest dedicated pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit in the state. World-class clinical care at Children’s, is complemented by social and emotional support services, and by pioneering community programs and research.

Children’s Health, through its longstanding partnership with UT Southwestern Medical Center, impacts pediatric health care in important ways beyond direct clinical care. Children’s Medical Center Dallas trains the largest number of future pediatric specialists in North Texas through offering residency and fellowship programs and by providing training opportunities for nurses, medical students, administrators, and allied health professionals. UT Southwestern faculty members conduct important clinical research at Children’s to develop treatments and therapies to improve the lives of patients, and scientists in Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern (CRI) conduct revolutionary research in state-of-the-art facilities to understand the biological basis of disease and discover new treatments and cures.
