Our organization’s unique purpose is rooted in our mission: to heal children, strengthen families, and build community. We serve children, youth, and families across metro Atlanta by providing compassionate, trauma-informed mental health services and vital support systems that empower individuals to heal, grow, and thrive.
Founded in 1981, we exist to meet the needs of some of our region’s most vulnerable populations. In 2021 alone, nearly one in four metro Atlanta children, almost 20,000, lived below the federal poverty level, and approximately 3,300 children and youth experience homelessness on any given night. These challenges are compounded by the critical shortage of mental health professionals with 76% of Georgia’s counties are designated Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas; therefore, making our work more urgent than ever.
Through our comprehensive programs which includes counseling, crisis intervention, therapeutic services in schools, and community outreach, we deliver the tools and support necessary for lasting change.
