The Church of the Good Shepherd (1370 Grundy Ave. Holbrook, NY 11741 http://www.goodshepherdrcchurch.org/) will be having its 21st Annual Raffle and Chinese Auction, our primary fund raiser of the year on Friday, November 17.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
The Church of the Good Shepherd is a parish of 4,098 families located on Long Island in NY. We support many ministries and charities in our area. The funds raised at this event will be used to support those ministries and charities and also help with the upkeep of our building.
We are committed to ALL the people who come to our outreach center or need help from one of our many ministries without thought of race, creed, sexuality or demeanor.
We offer support with food, counseling, education, information, advocacy and if necessary financial help.
We make wash-up kits and sandwiches for the homeless
Maintain a food bank
Maintain a hockey league on our grounds
Create prayer shawls & blankets for the ill, those in stress or grieving
Create newborn caps for pre mature babies
Help prepare funerals and offer bereavement groups
Offer wedding preparedness classes
Run blood drives in coordination with the fire dept.
Council those in crisis and with mental health issues
Sponsor two Senior Citizen groups
Support the surrounding community
